Whoever Calls
God's Way of Salvation - Part 2
Romans 10:14-15 (NKJV)
14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
TAKE-AWAYS FROM ROMANS 10
1. YOU CAN BE SINCERE AND STILL BE WRONG
Romans 10:1–2 (NKJV) “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.”
2. STOP TRYING TO EARN WHAT GOD GIVES
Romans 10:3-4 (NKJV) “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”
3. JESUS HAS ALREADY DONE THE HARD PART
Romans 10:5–7 (NKJV) For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
4. SALVATION IS RECEIVED BY FAITH
Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
5. THE WORD “WHOEVER” INCLUDES YOU
Romans 10:11-13 (NKJV) For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For ‘whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.’”
6. PEOPLE CANNOT BELIEVE A GOSPEL THEY NEVER HEAR
Romans 10:14-15 (NKJV) How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
Paul now gives us the chain of evangelism: someone is sent, someone preaches, someone hears, someone believes, and someone calls upon Christ.
Matthew 28:19–20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations.”
Mark 16:15 “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Acts 1:8 “You shall be witnesses to Me.”
Everyone has a story! You simply need to be willing to say, “Let me tell you what Jesus has done for me.”

Your story is a bridge to His story!
Mark 5:18-20 (NLT) As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” So the man started off … and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him...
We naturally talk about things that have made a difference in our lives.
“Evangelism is one beggar telling another beggar
where he found the bread!”
- D.L. Moody
Your story in three simple parts:
1. This is who I was.
2. This is what Jesus did.
3. This is who I am becoming.
You may not know how to preach a sermon, but you know how to tell your story – and somebody needs to hear what Jesus has done for you!

My Challenge To You:
Who's one person in your life who needs to hear your Jesus story this week?
Will you accept God's grace and free gift of faith in Jesus today?
Pray this prayer to receive Jesus as your Savior:
“Lord Jesus, today I receive Your grace. I admit that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again to give me new life. Today, I turn from my old ways and invite You into my heart. Be my Lord, be my Savior, and help me follow You all the days of my life. Right now, I trust you as my Savior and will follow you as my Lord. Thank You for loving me. Amen.”
Assurance of Salvation
If you prayed that prayer and meant it in your heart, you can be sure that you are saved.
Romans 10:13 (NLT) “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
John 10:28 (NLT) “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me.”
