The Golden Chain of Salvation
Romans 8:29-30 (KJV)
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

SOTERIOLOGY: The study of how God saves people.
Soteriology is the branch of theology that studies the doctrine of salvation—how a person is saved, from what they are saved, and what salvation includes.

(I highly recommend this book.)
1. FOREKNEW — “GOD KNEW YOU BEFORE YOU RESPONDED TO HIS GRACE”
Dr. Robert Picirilli, "To “foreknow” means to know in advance. God foreknows all things perfectly. But His advance knowledge of an event does not cause that event, any more than our after knowledge causes the things we know. He knew from before the foundation of the earth who would put faith in Him, and He determined to do certain things for them God’s salvation plan is rooted in His foreknowledge of persons, not an arbitrary decree."
2. PREDESTINED — “DESTINED FOR A PURPOSE, NOT PRESELECTED WITHOUT CHOICE”
Dr. Robert Picirilli, "This is the ultimate goal toward which the believer’s spiritual development is headed: conformity to the image of Jesus himself. God’s plan is that the believer develop finally into the likeness of Jesus Christ.
This does not mean that we shall become gods as He is God. But we shall “be like him” when He returns (1 John 3:2) and thus “bear the image of the heavenly [one]”
(1 Corinthians 15:49)."
3. CALLED — “THE INVITATION OF GRACE GOES OUT TO ALL”
Dr. Robert Picirilli, "Of course the Gospel call goes out to all men. But Paul is thinking especially about the truly saved here. Only in the hearts of those who respond in faith is the Gospel call truly effective. This call includes the preaching of the Gospel, with its invitation to “whosoever will,” and the convicting work of the Holy Spirit, the “drawing” Jesus spoke of in John 6:44. God must always take the initiative in man’s salvation."
John 6:44 (NKJV) No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
The calling is God’s invitation to salvation through the Gospel, empowered by prevenient grace, but resistible.
4. JUSTIFIED — “RIGHTEOUS BY FAITH, NOT BY DECREE”
Definition: declared righteous!
Dr. Robert Picirilli, “When the individual puts faith in Christ in response to the Gospel call, then he is declared innocent before Heaven’s bar of justice. He stands righteous before God, justified by faith.”
5. GLORIFIED — “THE PROMISE IS CERTAIN, BUT THE PATH MUST BE CONTINUED”
Dr. Robert Picirilli, “He speaks of this future glorification in past tense because he regards it as an already accomplished fact.”
When God says something will be so, it is as good as already so! God’s goal is to bring persevering believers into perfect conformity—body and spirit—to the image of His Son. Consider it done! The believer can rest in this secure confidence.

The Golden Chain - a Conditional Continuum
It's not an unbreakable deterministic chain. It's entered by a grace-enabled process and continued by faith!
Here’s the flow: Foreknown (God sees believers); Predestined (their destiny in Christ); Called (invited by grace); Justified (by faith); Glorified (final salvation).
Key Truth: Every step assumes a faith response!
Practical Takeaways:
1. God’s grace reaches out to everyone
2. Your response matters
3. Your destiny is Christlikeness
4. Remain faithful
Have you responded to God’s call? If so, are you walking in His purpose? Are you continuing in faith?

HAVE YOU DISCOVERED THE LOVE OF GOD?
Will you accept God's grace and free gift of faith in Jesus today?
Pray this prayer to receive Jesus as your Savior:
“Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again to give me new life. Today, I turn from my old ways and invite You into my heart. Be my Lord, be my Savior, and help me follow You all the days of my life. Right now, I trust you as my Savior and will follow you as my Lord. Thank You for loving me. Amen.”
Assurance of Salvation
If you prayed that prayer and meant it in your heart, you can be sure that you are saved.
Romans 10:13 (NLT) “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
John 10:28 (NLT) “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me.”
